About me

Stanley Steen was born in 1997, in a small, Dutch village called “Santpoort-Noord”. As a young boy, being the youngest of 3 children, Stanley feeled the necessity to “perform”. He would report the traffic jam he created with his car toys while he was only 6 years old.

Not much later, he started to show an interest in music and radio. He started playing guitar and hosting online radio shows. When he was 16 years old, he started working for AmsterdamFM and got his own morning radio show a year later. This helped him to explore his vocal reach and develop his voice. 

After having his own radio show on the FM for about two years, Stanley felt the need to explore other ways of storytelling, using more than just vocal expressions. He started playing extras in movies, to discover the filmmaking world and fell in love with it immediately. He attended workshops in acting and did some productions with filmmaking students.

To keep developing his skill and craft, Stanley decided to apply for the Associates Degree of Fine Arts in Acting for Film and Television at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles Campus. In 2018, he moved to Los Angeles to start his first semester at his new school.

It was during his stay here, where Stanley was introduced to the world of Theater. In the Theater, he learned all kinds of techniques, like Stanislavski, Strasberg, Meisner, Adler, Chekhov, Uta Hagen. Besides gaining experience in the theater, he also was able to play in multiple film and television productions, and was able to write, produce and star in his own production. 

While in Los Angeles, Stanley also attended “Accent Reduction” classes and can speak with a “Generic American Accent”.

After his graduation, Stanley went back to his home country, the Netherlands. Since Stanley believes that a craft should continuously  be developed, he still attends training and coaching at De Nederlandse Acteursschool” (The Dutch Acting School) i.a., he received training from Dutch professionals, like Jeroen Spitzenberger, Angela Schijf and Leendert de Ridder. Besides the professional training he still receives, Stanley is featuring in various plays and movies.
